About Tanja Smid
Tanja Smid is a specialist in leadership development and has extensive experience in advising, coaching and training managers and operational management. The development of people in changing organizations and the challenges of (top) management are recurring themes in her career.
Born in Nijmegen she spent her youth in different parts of the country, from Limburg to Groningen. She learned to adapt quickly, to enter into new relationships and she also discovered what it’s like to be ‘different’.
She worked with KPN Telecom for almost 10 years. Here she fulfilled various management functions and was responsible for change projects in the field of culture and HR. Tanja started her own company in 2001 and since then has guided management teams, managers and professionals on topics such as personal leadership, team effectiveness and inclusiveness. She believes that inclusive leaders are the key to organizations where people like to work and enjoy working. Tanja studied organizational psychology and is also trained in Systemic Working, Group Dynamics, Change Management and Inclusive Leadership. Her book about managing people (Leadership you do!, 2013) is still popular with operational management in the Netherlands.
